Governor Walker Announces Support for Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry

MADISON – Governor Scott Walker announced today that Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Company, Inc., Manitowoc, is eligible for up to $210,000 in economic development tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) for an expansion project. The expansion is projected to create up to 43 new jobs at the company.

Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry (WAF) Company, Inc. will invest $7.5 million to expand and equip its facility in Manitowoc. The project involves expanding the current facility by 35,000 square feet and adding two production lines. The building expansion and first production line will be completed in early 2012 and the second production line will be completed in late 2012.

WAF was founded in Manitowoc in 1909 and is one of the leading producers in the country of non-ferrous castings for a wide variety of industries. WAF has been awarded a Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year award in 2003, 2005, and 2009.

The WEDC is Wisconsin’s lead economic development agency.
