When the Chippewa River Distillery/Brewster Bros Brewing Co. was searching for a downtown location for their new facility, Carol and Jim Stirn saw potential in the riverbrewster beforefront site at 402 W River Street, despite the limitations of the existing concrete block former auto service center. The project involvbrewster brosed gutting the buildings to the walls, installing drains and new plumbing into the building, polishing the floors, wiring the building, sandblasting the taproom and clear-coating the ceiling and walls. A glass room was constructed to the southeast corner of the building for the stillroom, and stairs and loading docks were added, along with new windows and doors for natural light. A new metal roof was installed, and the outsi brewster beforee walls of the building were clad in metal and real stone facing. Finally, an upper deck overlooking the river was added to promote summertime relaxing while enjoying a cocktail or beer. Ultimately, the project more than transformed this site, creating an attractive destination for downtown Chippewa Falls.
