Deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2016

MADISON, WI. Jan. 12, 2016 – Nominations are now being accepted for the 2015-16 Governor’s New Product Awards (GNPA).

For more than three decades, the competition, overseen by the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE), has recognized Wisconsin’s leading manufacturers who have contributed to the state’s economic growth through the development, manufacturing and marketing of new and innovative products. Valid entries will include any new product, machine, process or material that has been developed in Wisconsin, provided that it was first placed on the market between 2010 and 2014.

Products that are submitted for consideration are evaluated based on sales and economic impact, innovative use of engineering principles, and improved function (e.g., cost savings, energy savings, efficiency increase, safety improvement). There are four categories in the GNPA contest: small (50 or fewer employees); medium (51 to 199 employees); large (200 to 9,999); and mega (10,000 or more employees). After the GNPA awards banquet, WSPE will submit results and information about 2015-16 GNPA Best of State Winners to the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) for recognition in NSPE Professional Engineers’ Industry publications.

GNPA applications will be accepted through Feb. 15, 2016. Awards will be presented during the GNPA banquet as part of WSPE’s Discovery Conference in the Milwaukee area in May 2016.

Past GNPA winners include the Kohler Company, Badger Meter, Rockwell Automation and InSinkErator.
