German Markets Hold Significant Opportunities for Wisconsin

As one of the strongest economies in the world, Germany is the largest trading partner of the U.S., and Wisconsin products are considered to be of good value in German markets. Companies looking to explore exporting options in Germany should consider participating in the Global Trade Venture to Germany from April 23-29, 2016, led by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). The trade venture coincides with the Hannover Messe trade show, the world’s leading event for industrial technology. In addition to the trade show, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one meetings with prospective business partners in Germany and across Europe. Qualifying small businesses can also apply to exhibit at the show at WEDC's expense.

IN-COUNTRY PERSPECTIVE

Wisconsin’s Strong German Roots Create Great Export Prospects

Thanks to a long history of German immigration and a shared manufacturing and agricultural heritage, Wisconsin has been called one of the most German states in the U.S. These deep roots have cultivated a strong trade partnership with the country. Germany’s markets present excellent opportunities for companies looking for export destinations, especially in the manufacturing, renewable energy and consumer goods sectors.
