Global distributed energy solutions provider to invest more than $300 million for Waukesha facility expansion
MADISON, WI. AUG. 19, 2026 – INNIO N.V. is planning to expand its main production hub for North America in Waukesha with a more than $300 million investment set to create more than 500 jobs over the coming years.
INNIO is a leading global distributed energy solutions provider for natural gas-powered engines used in the power generation and gas compression markets.
The investment is planned for the construction of an addition to INNIO’s existing facility in Waukesha to meet rising customer demand.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is supporting the project by authorizing up to $6 million in performance-based state income tax credits. The actual amount of the tax credits is contingent upon the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investment during that period.

The expansion replicates how INNIO has strengthened its North American footprint, including targeted investments in U.S. manufacturing and assembly capacity, to support growing demand for distributed and behind-the-meter power solutions and to improve proximity to the growing U.S. customer base fueled by rising data center demand. Further examples include a new facility in New Jersey to expand containerization capabilities and a site in Waller, Texas, that supports packaging of modular energy solutions for power and frac applications. These U.S.-facilities enable localized production and testing, shorter lead times, and increased capacity and flexibility, supporting projects that need power quickly.

INNIO currently conducts remanufacturing, repair and overhaul in its Waukesha facility, currently housed on approximately 1,700,000 square feet of land, including approximately 890,000 square feet of building space. The company expects to ramp up the capacity of this facility, leveraging its Jenbach factory model, underscoring the company’s long-term commitment to the Waukesha campus. An addition of more than 80,000 square feet is planned as an advanced testing facility. Additional site improvements, including office and shop floor renovations, can help support the production ramp-up needed to meet growing customer demand.

Community leaders say INNIO’s decision reflects Wisconsin’s manufacturing history and the strength of the manufacturing talent available in the region.
