Kwik Trip is planning a $151 million business expansion that is expected to create more than 500 jobs by 2027.

The company’s plan includes expansion of its dairy, bakery and commissary operations in La Crosse, the purchase and renovation of an office building in Onalaska, and construction of a new distribution center. More than 80% of the products sold in Kwik Trip stores are supplied by the company’s La Crosse-based food production and distribution operations.

The company will receive up to $15 million in state tax credits for the project through an Enterprise Zone that was created in 2017 to assist the growth of the La Crosse-based convenience store operator.

“While most of us are familiar with Kwik Trip for its retail operations, the company continues to grow its manufacturing and supply chain base in our state, which is creating hundreds of jobs and new investments even faster than anyone could have anticipated,” said Missy Hughes, secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
