The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. said it will award an additional $9 million in Enterprise Zone tax credits to Waukesha-based Generac Holdings Inc. if the company completes its goal of another $53 million investment in facilities across Wisconsin and the creation of more than 700 jobs by 2024.

“The promised investment in Wisconsin means more jobs, more contractors, more construction, more suppliers both for services and for goods and more economic development for the state of Wisconsin,” Generac’s chief operating officer Tom Pettit said at Tuesday’s event.

Pettit said the Pewaukee building will house 300 employees in sales, marketing and customer service. Generac spokesperson Tami Kou previously told the Milwaukee Business Journal the company already has about 90 employees on site. The new building also allows the company to free up space in its corporate headquarters to add more research and development staff. Generac’s corporate headquarters is at S45 W29290 Highway 59 in Waukesha.

“This new facility and our new agreement with the state is reconfirming our commitment to continue to grow in the state of Wisconsin,” Pettit said.
