Lake Mills wins inaugural WEDC Place-Makeover

A North Main Street alley will be transformed into a welcoming pedestrian corridor connecting Main Street and a parking area with help and $5,000 from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). The project is the first winner of WEDC’s Place-Makeover Contest. WEDC’s Downtown Development Team and consultants from All Together Studio, a placemaking firm, will be working with the City of Lake Mills and Legendary Lake Mills, which serves as the city’s chamber and Main Street organization, as well as area property owners to revitalize the space.

Tony Evers, together with Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Secretary and CEO Missy Hughes, announced, with new recipients in Iron County awarded today, the Main Street Bounceback grant program has now helped fill vacant storefronts in all 72 counties and has helped more than 3,400 small businesses and nonprofit organizations across the state.

WEDC, DATCP Expanding Funding for International Market Access Grants to Agribusinesses

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), in collaboration with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), invites Wisconsin agribusinesses to apply for International Market Access Grants (IMAG) through April 1, 2022. The additional funding for these grants to agribusinesses is provided by the Wisconsin Initiative for Agricultural Exports (WIAE), which was proposed by Gov. Tony Evers in his 2021-23 biennial budget.
