Hovertoon, LLC was founded by Richard D. Schramer in 2014 after receiving patent #8,418,638 for a combination hovercraft and pontoon boat. Development has started with a 1/12th scale RC model, then a full-scale 22’ x 8’6 test platform, and now a functional prototype with lift fans, skirt, deck fencing, and thrust sections. A working prototype with 2- 42” ducted fans powered with a 4.3L 195hp V6 has completed several 10-mile trips. Videos can be found on YouTube by searching for “Hovertoon”.
