Past, present and future in Wisconsin
American Packaging Corporation, a leader in the flexible packaging industry, recently selected DeForest as the location for a new satellite facility. A project whose first phase will include a 170,000-square-foot building, two 10-station gravure presses, ink blending, cylinder storage and finishing equipment, it is expected to create more than 60 new jobs.
The company will invest more than $50 million into the new facility, and as a result will receive up to $750,000 in performance-based state tax credits from WEDC over a five-year period. The DeForest parcel was pre-certified as development-ready through the Certified In Wisconsin® Program, and the Village of DeForest is also supporting the project with subsidized land, infrastructure and other incentives.
