Growth through export success
Ever-Green-View Farms LLC ventured into exporting as a way to reach a bigger customer base within its niche market and dilute risk by selling into multiple markets. Today, two-thirds of the company’s revenues come from exporting. The company found particular success on a trade venture to China in 2015 with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Connections made on the trade trip resulted in a couple of hundred thousand dollars’ worth of sales, according to co-owner Tom Kestell. In 2016, the company received the Governor’s Export Achievement Award for its export success. The awards program, administered by WEDC, recognizes businesses that have achieved significant growth or implemented innovative strategies in exporting.
