Taking advantage of growth opportunities In Wisconsin®
Having outgrown its existing facility in northern Illinois, Vonco Products announced that it would relocate to an 80,500-square-foot facility at the Salem Business Park in Kenosha County by the end of 2017. WEDC provided financial assistance that helped Vonco make the Town of Salem its new home. The company is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy that projects annual double-digit increases in sales over the next few years. The $12.8 million project is expected to meet the company’s current and future capacity needs. Vonco plans to invest in more than $4 million in new equipment the first three years, including a new printing press and several new pieces of converting equipment.
WEDC worked closely with the Kenosha Area Business Alliance (KABA), the Milwaukee 7 regional economic development organization and the Town of Salem to facilitate Vonco’s relocation to Wisconsin. Tools utilized included a tax increment financing district and $500,000 in performance-based tax credits.
