SmartcareWhile helping to support his aging father’s health care and transitions among hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home care, South Milwaukee native Scott Zielski observed the “disconnected systems and loads of paperwork” involved. This led him to found Smartcare Software in 2017. The Eau Claire company’s cloud-based platform uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to simplify and improve the process of delivering care at home, in assisted living facilities, or in retirement communities; the company is certified as a Qualified New Business Venture and raised its first major funding round in 2022.
