Event planning during a pandemic

With most communities canceling events and unsure when they will be able to resume programming in light of the pandemic, WEDC’s downtown development team is offering some ideas for how communities can adapt. These include a focus on smaller events and virtual events, as well as events that can be planned in a short amount of time—so communities can adopt creative strategies instead of simply going the whole summer without any events.

Milwaukee Tool’s regional impact grows through R&D facility, other expansions

With multiple recent expansions of its presence in Wisconsin, Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. is primed to reach its goal of $5 billion in annual revenue in 2020 and cement its position as a key global player in the power equipment market. In October, it opened a $32 million research and development center on its Brookfield campus and expanded its Mukwonago manufacturing facility. In December, it announced the acquisition of additional office and research space in Menomonee Falls.

Subsidiary of giant Catalent to expand Madison operations

Catalent Pharma Solutions LLC has announced it will be investing $75 million in the expansion of its Madison facility. The project will add approximately 60,000 square feet to Catalent’s existing facility, more than doubling the company’s commercial biomanufacturing capacity and creating an expected 145 additional jobs.
